The Role 

We are currently seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in delivering and maintaining a range of infrastructure and cloud services. This role is suitable to someone who has broad experience across multiple technologies, wishes to be in a leadership position and make a real influence on the direction of technology at Opal HealthCare. Key Responsibilities 

• Own and deliver broad infrastructure and cloud technologies both existing and future. 
• Be present as a team leader to influence technology decisions and mentor the team. 
• Support and improve central infrastructure, network, cloud, and systems. 
• Ensure the team conduct all routine tasks and then report on these to the Infrastructure Manager. 
• Continuous upgrades of firmware, software, and hardware across all infrastructure systems.  
• Document the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.   
• Support, maintain and action day-to-day operations of the server, network and cloud technology.  
• Professionally represent the ICT Infrastructure Team as a technical consultant on projects and business as usual requests. 
• Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends. 
• Interact with the Level 1 and Level 2 service desks and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root causes, and provide technical support when needed. 
• Have a firm understanding of Opal’s ICT policies, processes and procedures. 
• Recommend, plan for, and perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, patching upgrades, and preventive maintenance. 
• Be a senior point of escalation within the ICT department for all technical matters. 
• Ensuring optimal performance, security, and integrity of systems and networks. 
• Identify existing gaps, provide documented recommendations for improvement. 

Required Experience and Qualifications 

• Tertiary degree in IT or relevant discipline. 
• IT work experience within the last 3 years as system/network engineer. (Level 3 role) 
• Networking experience and knowledge of Routing protocols, TCP/IP Protocols, and network infrastructure (LAN/WAN) troubleshooting. 
• Experience with Office365 Administration, Intune, and Azure AD. 
• Experience with Radius, SSO, MFA, Azure platform. 
• Experience with Citrix, Firewalls, Certificates. 
• Experience in Backup, Replication and DR technologies. (Veeam knowledge is a bonus) 
• Timely completion of assigned projects and/or work-streams, providing updates as required, and ability to prioritize problems, assess the impact of issues, raise or address risks and issues in a pro-active manner, and escalate it through the proper channels. 
• VMware vSphere administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. 
• Ability to work out of business hours if/when needed. 
• You are comfortable operating at design level through to deployment. 
• You enjoy diverse tasks, a project driven environment, and working with stakeholders at all levels. 
• Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal. 

While this role does not require every certification, it is advantageous to have some of the following: 

• Azure Administrator Associate or similar. 
• Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate. 
• CCNA , CCNP or equivalent. 
• VMware certified. 
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals or similar. 
• IT Security certifications. 
• ITIL certifications.
